Where It All Began

As part of our contribution to insuring a bright future for new sholars and leaders, we offer scholarships to the active members of Phi Theta Kappa.
We also offer a means of providing financial assistance to enable and encourage current dues-paying members of the Missouri Alumni Association to attend Regional conferences and conventions when they are facing financial challenges.

Missouri Leaders of Promise Scholarship
The Missouri Leaders of Promise Scholarship was established in 2002 to provide financial support to eligible Missouri Region Phi Theta Kappa members while they are enrolled in associate degree coursework. The scholarship program also supports the development of leadership by encouraging recipients to participate in Society programs.
Up to three (3) Missouri Leaders of Promise Scholarship recipients will receive $400 cash stipends each academic year. The award will be disbursed in two equal payments of $200 per semester. The first payment will be made by 1 August 2011. The second payment will be made after the student provides a signed Participation Requirement Form verifying participation in at least five chapter activities during the fall 2011 semester, enrolls in a minimum of six semester credit hours for each semester of the 2011-2012 academic year, and maintenance of at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA.

DEADLINE - The Missouri Alumni Association must receive applications no later than 1 April 2012.
The Good as Gold Scholarship is provided for the purpose of promoting attendance at regional events as well as providing financial support to Missouri Phi Theta Kappa chapters. Selection of two (2) recipient chapters at each regional event is determined by a random drawing from among all chapters attending the event: Missouri Regional Convention, Missouri Leadership/Honors in Action Conference, and Missouri Honors Institute. Each recipient receives a stipend of $100 which can be used in any way to benefit the chapter and its members.
MAA Provision for Financial Assistance
If you would like to attend a Missouri Regional Conference but are having difficulties with finances, the MAA now offers Financial Assistance for members of the Association to attend regional conferences. The Provision for Financial Assistance does not apply to attendance at International Convention. In summary, financial assistance is available to current dues-paying MAA members and includes paid conference registration and 1/4 of the lodging cost (when applicable). Members who receive this assistance are required to participate in alumni activities at the conference for which the assistance applies. In addition, members can receive financial assistance no more than twice in their lifetime. Applications should be sent to the MAA advisor, Cheryl Winter, no later than 30 days prior to a convention and can be submitted via mail or email. Please see the following documents for complete information.
